July 28 - Chocolate Museum
It's the weekend, so the students were able to sleep in a little bit!! After getting some much needed rest many of the students took a trip to Barcelona's Chocolate Museum. They learned how the chocolate was made and then had a tasting of all the different chocolates ranging from dark to milk! They then went through the museum and viewed some pretty amazing sculptures made out of chocolate! The students really enjoyed the yummy activity, even if it left some belly aches! The students then had free time to enjoy their favorite places in Barcelona. After free time we went to a wonderful group dinner!

July 27 - Class photos, Photography Exhibition and Magic Fountains at Mont Juic!
This morning the classes were combined to do a scavenger hunt around the beach! They had to find things that were typical in Spain and they even had to use their new language skills to ask the locals some questions in order to answer the questions. After class the students had a little down time and then they were off to electives. The photography class had their final photography exhibition! Each student was able to pick four of their favorite photos that had to do with the subject of their choice. These photos were then blown up and we had a little party for all of the other students to come and view the photos! It was a lot of fun and the students were definitely proud of their photos! After elective everyone ate a wonderful dinner prepared by our fearless cook Astrid! Then some students went off to the magic fountains at Mont Juic while others strapped on some rollerblades and got to see the city in a new way!
Here are two photos of the Spanish Language classes!!

July 25 - Sagrada Familia & Tapas Cooking Night!
Today the morning language classes went to one of the most famous sites in Barcelona, the Sagrada Familia. Sagrada Familia is a large Roman Catholic church here in Barcelona. It was designed by Barcelona's loved Antoni Gaudi, therefore it has all the different interesting and unique features to it that Gaudi tends to bring to his work. The construction of Sagrada Familia started in 1882 and is anticipated to be finished in 2026!!!
After morning classes the students went off to electives and then gathered together right after for tapas night! This was no ordinary tapas night however, the students made ALL of the tapas themselves and then brought them up to the rooftop to enjoy and even win prizes for their efforts!! It was definitely hard work but VERY delicious!!
