After morning classes the students went off to electives and then gathered together right after for tapas night! This was no ordinary tapas night however, the students made ALL of the tapas themselves and then brought them up to the rooftop to enjoy and even win prizes for their efforts!! It was definitely hard work but VERY delicious!!

July 25 - Sagrada Familia & Tapas Cooking Night!
Today the morning language classes went to one of the most famous sites in Barcelona, the Sagrada Familia. Sagrada Familia is a large Roman Catholic church here in Barcelona. It was designed by Barcelona's loved Antoni Gaudi, therefore it has all the different interesting and unique features to it that Gaudi tends to bring to his work. The construction of Sagrada Familia started in 1882 and is anticipated to be finished in 2026!!!

Olympic Basketball USA VS SPAIN!!
What an awesome coincidence that the U.S.A. Olympic basketball team is in Spain at the same time the students are enjoying the program! The coincidence gets even better because the students actually went to the USA VS SPAIN basketball game! They were able to see some of their favorite stars, like Lebron James, dunk and rebound against Spains best players. Thankfully the USA won! (Thank you to our student Justin and director Joel for taking the photos of this one as I wasn't there!!)

July 24 - Monteserrat!!!
Many of the students said that today was the best thing they have done so far during their time with Abbey Road!! We took a day trip to a town called Monteserrat. Monteserrat is multi-peaked mountain that also is home to the Benedictine Abbey as well as the world famous Virgin of Monteserrat Sanctuary which many believe to be the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian Myth! While visiting, the students were able to see beautiful mountainous views, shop at the market for some delicious cheeses, view the Abbey as well as climb to the peak of the mountain!!! It was an amazing day for the Barcelona Program!
